Training grounds for the new society

Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, hailing from a diverse ancestral lineage encompassing Azorean, Frisian, Scottish Celtic, Tupi-Guarani, Congolese, and Guinean heritage. Barbara devotes her life to the awakening of natural intelligence, the integration of indigenous technologies, the celebration of culture and arts, and the re-wilding of our environments and human hearts through community prayer work, educational programs, and environmental activism.

Embarking on her initiatic journey at the age of 8, Barbara underwent training and ordainment as a Johrei energy healing practitioner within the Sekai Kyūsei Kyō Izunome faith. Trained in Ikebana, Nature Farming, and Altar Keeping, she was steeped in a spiritually disciplined upbringing, actively involved in Johrei Centers from her youth, engaging in evening services, children's spiritual programs, and extensive Johrei sessions.

Since then, Barbara has dedicated the last 27 years of her life to the study of Self, the healing of body, and exploration of the Quantum Source Field leading her to travel the world studying with master teachers in the fields of energy medicine, meditation, holistic nutrition, martial arts, Biogeometry, temple architecture, Pythagorean harmonics, Damanhurian alchemy, traditional dances from the Silk Road, Sufi Whirling, Cha Dao, Oracle arts, Hermetic Kabbalah, Amazonian plant medicine, Native American and West African rites, Egyptian cosmology, Way of Council, Vedic astrology, and Agroforestry.

With a Master's in Intuition Medicine from the Academy of Intuition Medicine, a certified Holistic Health Coach from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, an advanced Biogeometry student, as well as a trained Doula and Oracle, Barbara has spent the last 10 years imparting wisdom through teaching, retreat leadership, pilgrimage guidance, ceremonial facilitation, and the organization of holistic events & festivals worldwide. 

Drawn to her homeland's indigenous wisdom, Barbara has dedicated herself to cultural projects in the Amazon rainforest for the last 7 years, collaborating with the Yawanawá people of Mutum Village to foster initiatives such as the Yawanawa Women’s Vivencia and the Yawanawa Traditional Children's School.

Currently based on the Island of Hawai’i, Barbara co-stewards the Manawai Academy, a five-acre retreat and sacred refuge on the breathtaking Hilo/Hamakua Coast. A center committed to reviving the spirit of Aloha, embracing communal empowerment, and reawakening our sacred stewardship of the land while nurturing mental, physical, and spiritual resilience by harmonizing with nature's intelligence and the cycles of time.

In partnership with esteemed Hawaiian teachers and master educators, Barbara conducts seasonal-based trainings for local & global communities. In 2023 she was awarded the “Papahanaumoku Global Moana” Stars of Oceania Award, during its award ceremony held in Rarotonga, Cook Islands.
